  4.     HOSPITALIZED. Cab Calloway, 81, singer and bandleader whose
  5. hipsterish theme hi-de-ho from Minnie the Moocher became an
  6. anthem of Harlem's jazz age; in critical condition; in White
  7. Plains, N.Y. Two weeks ago, Calloway collapsed while on tour in
  8. Japan. For the first time in his 60-year career, the entertainer
  9. had to miss a performance. Wrote Calloway in his autobiography:
  10. "Women, horses, cars, clothes. I did it all. And do you know
  11. what that's called, ladies and gentlemen? It's called living."
